Do pet birds attack people ?

Birds like every other animal can feel what you are feeling. If you go in petrified, they are going to be just as tense. To get a bird talking and wanting to hang on your shoulder you are going to have to put the fear aside and work with it. What so they do when you let them out? Fly, play, chew on things. I've gotten nasty bites from all but one of my birds and they are little and I'm not scared of them. The one bird who didn't bite me does like to use her beak as a needle and poke it into my arm. She thinks it's fun. You have to redirect and reinforce positive behavior. Birds aren't like dogs in that they want to naturally hang with humans. They aren't that far off from their wild brothers as they haven't been domesticated as long as cata and dogs. If you have the patience and are willing to work with them daily, they will be your beat friend. When my kids let our birds out, they fly through the house to find their favorite person.
